Transferring Water Service—Sale/Purchase

Prior to the closing for a property, the title company is required to contact the District regarding the closing and to request a final amount to be collected from the sellers. The day of closing, we will get a final meter reading at the property and transfer the account to the buyer. If the final payment is not received within three weeks after closing, the balance will be transferred to the buyer’s account. If this happens, please contact the title company and request they make prompt payment to ensure continuation of your water service.
