Engineering Services
Engineering Locates & Plans
In support of design, construction of new infrastructure, and maintenance of existing infrastructure the Engineering department provides plans of our buried system for coordination purposes. Left Hand Water District provides no guarantee on the completeness or accuracy of these plans. It is the responsibility of the design engineer or contractor to coordinate field locates and potholing of our utilities as necessary prior to finalizing the design or commencing any construction. All requests for engineering plans should be made through the 811 system link.
Engineering Plan & Report Review
Engineering staff reviews engineering documents for new subdivisions and tap requests. We also review the engineering information of other jurisdictions and private entities for coordination purposes. Please contact the Engineering department should you have plans or materials that you need to submit and have reviewed outside of the New Water Service (Tap) Connection process.
Inspection
Engineering staff inspect and approve the installation of any new infrastructure that the District will eventually own and operate. We also inspect private booster pump systems subject to prior approval, well disconnections, and cross connection removal. Inspection fees apply in most cases, call for details and pricing. The District does not inspect private service lines beyond the residential meter pit or commercial service lines between the curb stop and the meter inside the building.
Maps, Standards, & Projects
District staff bids out new projects for construction, support services, and design along with administering associated contracts. We update the boundary of the District annually and update our GIS system as infrastructure is added or changed. Please visit the Maps, Standards, & Projects page for more information.
